Celebrating International Day of Peace

Hello everyone. I am sending you hugs and love on this beautiful Friday. Today, September 21 is the International Day of Peace. It is a day to focus on committing to love and care to all humanity. I will admit that I have never heard of this day before but it’s so fitting since I’m working on healing myself and forgiveness. What better way to do that by finding that inner peace, focusing on that peace of mind and moving forward with this newly found source. Plus -I don’t think it’s a coincidence that it’s the day before Autumn officially starts. I love the Sun and how people react to Mother Nature and all of her abundance. I myself though am waiting for the changing of the colors, the brisk winds, boots and my Pumpkin cheesecake with caramel drizzle from Fazoli’s. I get it every year and love it every time. Don’t judge. Sunset Photo Inspirational Bookmark

Humanity could definitely use some peace right now. I never liked watching the news because it was always negative but within the last two years, I made it a daily goal to avoid anything surrounding the news and politics. Of course as much as I try, I can’t because the news is all over social media and before I know it, I’m reading another article or watching another video that is breaking my heart. It’s even harder now as a parent because I can’t protect him from everyone and everything. People are so hateful and dangerous that I constantly worry about his future and what he will up against. My husband says that the world has always been like this. We just see it so much more because a- of social media and b- because we’re parents. Maybe so but I pray everyday that humanity will wake up and appreciate everyone, not just one group or one idea. The world will never be perfect, this I know but like the saying ‘If you can’t find someone who cares, be that someone.’

So on this day of peace, I urge you to find something that brings you peace. Take a second to meditate or do yoga or take a walk or write a story or drink a glass of wine or jump on a trampoline or whatever you like and do that. Hug your friends and family. Reach out to your loved ones and send them good vibes. Look at yourself in the mirror and smile at yourself. Hold onto that peace of mind even if it just for a second. I wish you all love on this day and everyday. Love & Peace!
